Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and demonstrate exceptional patient care skills. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing nursing care plans, and implementing appropriate interventions to ensure optimal health outcomes. This role requires effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to provide high-quality care across various settings.

Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health management.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to NCQA standards.
  • Assist in procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, and phlebotomy.
  • Provide specialized care in areas such as critical care, pediatrics, geriatrics, or hospice & palliative medicine as needed.

Skills
Candidates should possess a combination of required and preferred skills including:

  • Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
  • Experience in acute care settings including ICU, emergency medicine, or trauma medicine.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control practices.
  • Ability to perform advanced nursing procedures such as dialysis, ventilator management, and airway management.
  • Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate medical documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients of diverse backgrounds including those with developmental disabilities or dementia.
  • Experience in long-term care environments such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities.
  • Competence in pain management techniques including acute pain management and behavioral health support.

**Qualifications**

- You need to have 3 to 5 years of recent experience as an OR RNFA.
- You should be able to scrub and assist in surgeries when needed.
- Experience in general, orthopedic, neuro, urology, vascular, and bariatric surgeries is required.
- It is strongly preferred that you know how to use Meditech Expanse.
- If you are a traveler, you must have your own vehicle for this job.

**Requirements**

- You must have BLS certification (AHA).
- CNOR certification is required.
- You need to have a state nursing license for Massachusetts.
