**Responsibilities:**
- May be requested to serve as a backup Charge Nurse.
- Coordinates comprehensive nursing care for patients.
- Engages in patient and family education.
- Provides leadership by collaborating with ancillary nursing staff and other members of the patient care team to uphold standards of professional nursing practice within the clinical environment.
- Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems, specifically Cerner.
- Maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 to 4 or 5. -
Oversees an average daily patient census of 22.
**Qualifications:**
- A minimum of two years of recent experience in Medical-Surgical and Rehabilitation nursing is required.
- Willingness to float between Acute Rehabilitation and Medical-Surgical units.
- Prior experience in a Charge Nurse role is mandatory.
- Previous travel nursing experience of at least three months is required.
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Candidates should note that this is a small community with no public transportation; therefore, it is essential that traveler candidates possess their own vehicle. This requirement is non-negotiable.
**Certification Requirements:**
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
**State License Requirements:**
- A valid nursing license for the state of Vermont is required.
- The Compact License is permitted.
