**Job Overview**  

 

You will work under the guidance of a supervisor or manager. 

As a registered nurse, you are responsible for caring for patients.

 This includes finding out their needs, planning their care, providing treatment, and checking how well they are doing. You will also teach patients and guide other team members while following nursing standards. You aim to do an excellent job to improve the experience of patients and their families.

 

**Main Responsibilities**  

- Assess the patient’s physical, emotional, and social needs when they arrive, and complete a written assessment within a set time.

- Identify what the patient needs and create a written care plan based on your assessment, which should start within 24 hours of their arrival.

- Put the care plan into action and write down how well it works in the patient's medical record. Update the plan as needed or at least every 24 hours.

- Create a supportive environment for patients and their families by offering emotional and psychological support.

- Help patients become more independent by setting care goals, teaching them and their families about their conditions and self-care, and answering any questions.

- Ensure high-quality care by following standards and guidelines, checking health outcomes, making necessary changes, and adhering to the laws and regulations set by the nursing boards and agencies.

- Solve patient issues by working together with other healthcare team members.

- Keep patients and staff safe by following infection control rules and safe medication practices.

- Ensure smooth communication and care between nursing teams and doctors by documenting and sharing information about patient needs.

- Build good relationships with healthcare teams by sharing information and participating in problem-solving. - Use leadership skills to delegate tasks and communicate with team members.

- Notice changes in the patient’s condition and provide the necessary responses and documentation.

- Educate patients and their families regularly about their health, care needs, and recovery expectations.

**Qualifications**  

- At least 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical nursing.  

- Experience in floating to Progressive Care Units (PCU).  

- Ability to work with telemetry (heart monitoring).  

- Must have ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications.  

- Must be able to read and understand heart rhythms.  

- Must pass a dysrhythmia test before starting work.

- ACLS (AHA)   - BLS (AHA)
