This position encompasses a range of integrated pre-operative and post-operative critical care functions, executed intuitively through the application of the nursing process, while leveraging a comprehensive nursing knowledge base in a compassionate and attentive manner.
**Responsibilities**
- (25%)* Conduct a thorough assessment of the patient, evaluating physical, emotional, psychological, social, and familial support systems.
- (25%)* Organize and coordinate all dimensions of patient care in accordance with the patient’s actual and/or perceived needs.
- (25%)* Assess patient progress by integrating patient information with nursing expertise to ascertain whether established goals are being achieved in alignment with the patient's care plan or clinical pathway.
- (25%)* Consult and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to plan and execute comprehensive patient care.
**Qualifications**
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) is required.
- Certification in Open Heart training is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications, as endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA), are required.
- Experience in travel nursing is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Epic electronic health records is preferred.

**State License Requirements**
- Michigan nursing license is required.
**Additional License Requirements**
- The nursing license must be active.
