**Pediatrics Office Nurse (RN or LPN) Job Description**

The Pediatrics Office Nurse, either a Registered Nurse (RN) or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), provides and organizes care for patients. They work independently, following rules of nursing, medical guidance, and hospital guidelines. The Office Nurse uses a process called the Nursing Process to assess (check), plan, implement (carry out), and evaluate (check results) nursing care. They also teach and supervise other support staff, like LPNs and Medical Assistants, to help carry out patient care plans.

**Responsibilities:**

- **Patient Care:** Provide direct care to patients by checking their needs, making care plans, putting those plans into action, and evaluating how well they are working.

- **Teamwork:** Work together with doctors, other nurses, and healthcare workers to create and follow personalized care plans for each patient.

- **Documentation:** Keep clear and accurate records of patients’ health, treatments, and progress. Quickly report any changes or concerns to the right team members.

- **Medication Administration:** Give medications and treatments as prescribed, following hospital rules and procedures.

- **Patient Education:** Teach patients and their families about managing their health, treatment choices, and preventive measures to promote wellness.

- **Support and Advocacy:** Provide emotional support and stand up for patients' rights, ensuring they receive respectful and compassionate care.

- **Policy Compliance:** Follow hospital rules and regulations to ensure a safe and ethical work environment.

- **Continuous Learning:** Keep learning about new medical practices, advancements, and standards through professional development.

- **Other Duties:** Carry out other tasks as assigned, while keeping all patient information confidential.

**Experience and Qualifications:**

- We are looking for nurses who have some experience. Unfortunately, we cannot accept new graduates at this time since we cannot train a brand-new nurse.

- You need a valid Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license from the New Hampshire Board of Nursing.

**Certification Requirements:**

- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association)

**State License Requirements:**

- Must have a New Hampshire license or a Compact license that is active when applying.
