**Job Specific Details and Responsibilities:**
The responsibilities associated with this position may include, but are not limited to, the following duties, which may vary based on departmental needs:
- Collaborate with a diverse range of healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, thereby facilitating the attainment of optimal outcomes in clinical care, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure adherence to standards of care and practice in compliance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines utilized within the Military Treatment Facility (MTF).
- Conduct physical examinations and obtain health histories from patients.
- Provide health promotion, counseling, and education to patients and their families.
- Administer medications, perform wound care, and implement a variety of personalized interventions.
- Offer clinical guidance or assist in the training of other healthcare professionals within the scope of clinical privileges or responsibilities; however, this role does not include serving as Charge Nurse in a unit or ward.
- Provide clinical direction in making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.
- Identify adverse signs and symptoms and respond promptly in emergency situations.
- Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of individuals to inform the healthcare team of strategies and actions, as well as to enhance teaching and educational efforts that benefit patients, families, and the organization. - Schedule referral appointments and arrange specialty care as necessary.
- Execute nursing services as outlined in the Task Order (TO).
- Maintain productivity levels comparable to those of peers engaged in similar services.
- Participate in peer review and performance improvement initiatives.
- Employ aseptic techniques as required and adhere to infection control guidelines, ensuring the proper handling, storage, and disposal of infectious waste and the application of universal precautions to prevent the transmission of infection. - Operate with a constant awareness of safety protocols and procedures.
**Work Schedule:**
The position requires various 12-hour shifts, either during daytime or nighttime hours, not to exceed 80 hours within a biweekly period. The workweek commences on Sunday and concludes on Saturday, inclusive of a 30-minute lunch break. Additionally, the role entails rotational coverage for weekends and holidays.
**Minimum Qualifications:**

**Educational Requirements:** A minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing. -
**Experience:** A minimum of two years of experience within the last five years in an inpatient pediatric ward setting. -
**Life Support Certification:** The candidate must possess a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) as well as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification. -
**Licensure:** The candidate must hold a full, current, and unrestricted nursing license in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia and must maintain licensure to practice in the United States of America. -
**Security Clearance:
** The individual must possess the ability to successfully pass a government background check/security clearance.
