Under general supervision, the Respiratory Therapist provides essential respiratory care and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary dysfunctions and pathophysiological conditions. 

This role includes training and serving as a resource within the Respiratory Therapy Department.

 It is essential to note that this job description does not encompass all duties; the employee may be tasked with additional responsibilities as directed by their supervisor.

 This is a part-time, benefit-eligible position, requiring 24 hours of work per week.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Proficiency in operating and managing ventilators and BiPAP/CPAP devices

- Conducting arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and interpretation

- Administering medications via nebulizers and metered-dose inhalers

  - Cross-training in pulmonary function testing (PFT) procedures 

- Collaborating effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver acute and critical care according to prescribed protocols.

 

Qualifications:

- A minimum of an Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field

- Active licensure as a Respiratory Therapist - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

  - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification 

- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification 

Certification requirements include maintaining BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
