The Respiratory Therapist (RT) is an integral component of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, exhibiting a high level of expertise, professionalism, and skill in patient interactions.
The RT is expected to deliver age-appropriate care across a diverse patient demographic and must possess a comprehensive understanding of hospital protocols as well as align with the AARC standards of practice.
This facility offers 24/7 respiratory coverage, eliminating the need for a call schedule.
Under the supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Services Clinical Supervisor and the direction of healthcare providers, the RT is responsible for administering both therapeutic and diagnostic cardiopulmonary services in accordance with practitioner orders and the guidelines established by the 25-bed Critical Access Hospital and the Cardiopulmonary Department.

**Education and Licensure:** Completion of an accredited Respiratory Care Program and possession of a current New Hampshire License/Registration is mandatory. -
**Certifications:** Current ACLS certification or eligibility for certification through the National Board for Respiratory Care is required. PALS and NRP certifications must be obtained within six months of employment. CPR certification is also required.
**Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:**
- In-depth understanding of relevant physiological and pathological principles is essential.
- Candidates must demonstrate the capability to operate autonomously while also contributing effectively in a collaborative team setting. - Strong communication skills are imperative.
- While five years of clinical experience is preferred, new graduates may be considered.
- Proficiency in computer applications is necessary, along with technical aptitude and a readiness to learn new software.
**Certification Requirements:**
- ACLS - BLS - NBRC - NRP - PALS
**State License Requirements:**
- Valid New Hampshire License (Compact status is accepted).
