**Purpose Statement**  

The Sanitation Associate is responsible for keeping the environment clean and making sure all equipment is properly cleaned. 

This helps to ensure our food products are safe and of good quality.

**Key Responsibilities**  

- Takes apart and sets up all production equipment.

- Cleans all equipment using specific cleaning methods (COP and CIP).

- Checks that all equipment is cleaned and set up correctly.

- Puts away cleaning and production supplies.

- Drives equipment that moves materials around.

- Tests and checks the cleaning chemicals used in the CIP systems.

- Keeps track of CIP Chart Recorders and writes down important information.

- Counts and checks the cleaning supplies.

- Uses special technology (bioluminescence) to check the cleaning systems.

- Follows the plant's Master Cleaning Schedule.

- Fixes basic issues with cleaning equipment.

- Trains new team members on what they need to know for the job.

- Keeps the work area safe and tidy, following safety and cleanliness guidelines.

- Operates the SCADA system and fills out necessary paperwork.

- Completes other tasks as assigned by the lead person.

- May need to learn about other areas of the plant, including the Valve and Pump maintenance program.

**Knowledge and Skills Needed**  

- High school diploma or GED.

- One year of work experience in a manufacturing or industrial job.

- Six months of experience in cleaning or sanitation work is preferred.

- Good communication skills, both writing and speaking. - Ability to train other team members in sanitation.

- Willingness to work as part of a self-directed team.

- Knowledge of how to use the SCADA system.

- Awareness of safety rules for employees.

- Understanding of good manufacturing practices (GMP) and food safety rules.

- Knowledge of how to operate and adjust machines.

- Ability to work on production improvement teams and participate in group projects when assigned.
