**Job Summary:**
The Sonographer does important work by doing ultrasound exams that help doctors understand what is happening inside patients' bodies.
This job is done efficiently, following the doctor's requests. The Sonographer works well with both patients and doctors and keeps good communication with other team members.
**Job Duties:**
- Complete exams quickly and use free time to help others when needed.
- Check the daily charges for exams and manage the list of exams that are delayed for the ultrasound department.
- Organize tasks during busy times to make sure patients get help quickly and share important information with other technologists.
- Help doctors with radiology procedures.
- Build good relationships in the department and talk to the supervisor about any concerns, while presenting a positive image of the department to co-workers.
- Keep supplies organized and find better ways to use them.
- Use equipment safely and according to rules, keeping the work area clean. Clean the machines after each workday and between patients.
- Follow the “on-call” policy by returning calls quickly and arriving at work within 30 minutes if needed.
- Be ready to help in any area of radiology when asked. Check with co-workers to see if they need help during free time.
- Follow rules about attendance and being on time.
- Attend required meetings and training at the hospital and department.
- Follow safety and hygiene rules.
- Do other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
**Qualifications:**
- At least 2 years of experience
- Required - Registered Echo/Vascular Sonographer
- Required - Able to perform Echocardiograms with Contrast
- Required - Must perform various echo and vascular studies like TTE, TEE, stress echos, and different types of dopplers
- Required - Able to start an IV on your own
- Required - Experience with MediTech - Required
**Certification Requirements:**
- ARDMS Certification
- BLS (AHA) Certification
