**Duties**
- Work with patients who have trouble speaking, thinking, or swallowing. Create a care plan that follows the rules and best practices.
- Use standard tests and proven methods to guide treatment.
- Check how patients are doing and change treatments as needed, keeping detailed records.
- Evaluate how effective the treatments are and make changes based on the results, and refer patients to other services if necessary.
- Help patients, their families, and caregivers understand speech disorders through consultation and counseling.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and other healthcare team members about patient progress, challenges, and care plans.
- Write a complete summary of the services provided when patients are ready to leave, following all required guidelines.
- Keep accurate records of treatments in the electronic system and manage patient files according to company rules.
- Log all minutes spent on treatment as required.
- Attend necessary meetings, such as those focused on patient care and rehabilitation.
- Participate in trainings, workshops, and conferences arranged by the facility and company.
- Obtain any necessary equipment or supplies as needed.
- Supervise and support new speech-language pathologists or students in training.
- Follow the practices and ethics set by ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) and state regulations in your work as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Maintain active ASHA membership and state license.
**Requirements**
- One year of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is required.
- Experience in long-term care or rehabilitation is required.
- Must have a Missouri State License.
- Must be a certified SLP (CCC certified).
- Three years of experience is preferred.
- Only one reference is needed at the time of application.
- Applications must be at the posted pay rate; if a higher rate is requested, the candidate will be redirected.
