In this leadership role oriented towards client engagement, you will collaborate closely with members of the tax division as well as the management team to execute tax and business planning strategies for both new and existing clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting tax technical research and preparing detailed tax correspondence and memos.
- Reviewing complex tax compliance matters, including the preparation and analysis of tax returns and election forms. - Providing expert support on tax-related issues to team members across the client spectrum.
- Mentoring and developing junior professionals within the team.
- Collaborating with colleagues to identify potential tax planning opportunities and to enhance business generation from the existing client base.
Required Experience, Qualifications, and Attributes:
- Designation as a CPA.
- Currently enrolled in, or has completed, the CPA Canada In-depth Tax Course.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in public practice, with at least 2 years focused on Canadian private company tax.
- Strong foundation in tax compliance and an understanding of the unique challenges faced by small to medium-sized enterprises. - Proficiency with tax reorganizations and transaction advisory.
- Self-motivated, independent, and a proactive thinker.
- Ability to multitask and effectively manage several client accounts concurrently.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a commitment to fostering transparent and open dialogues with clients and colleagues alike.
- Effective relationship-building capabilities to ensure a positive and collaborative experience for clients and team members.
- A ‘One Team’ mentality, demonstrating a willingness to collaborate and contribute positively to the team dynamic.
