The Lab Technician helps collect and process samples from customers. 

They also perform different laboratory tests to help doctors diagnose and track how well treatments are working. Customers can be of any age, including babies, children, teenagers, adults, and older people.

**Qualifications**

**Education:**

- You need an associate degree in medical laboratory technology or laboratory science from an approved school. A bachelor's degree in medical technology or clinical laboratory science is also acceptable, or you can have a mix of education and experience that meets the requirements of CLIA guidelines.

**Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**

- You must have experience working in a clinical lab.

- You should know about CLIA, federal, and state rules and regulations.

- Being detail-oriented is important.

**Licensure and Certification:**

- It’s preferred to have ASCPA/NCA certification or be eligible for it.
