**Role Overview of the Ultrasound/Vascular Technologist**

The Ultrasound/Vascular Technologist's primary responsibilities entail the following:

 **Equipment Selection:** Appropriately selects ultrasound equipment in alignment with specific exam protocols and specifications.

- 

**Procedure Execution:** Articulates and performs ultrasound procedures, tailoring explanations to the patient’s age and comprehension level.

- 

**Patient Assessment:** Evaluates patient pain levels that may interfere with imaging processes and collaborates with physicians for necessary interventions.

- 

**Patient Safety and Quality Care:** Delivers comprehensive patient care within a framework that maximizes safety and minimizes risks of medical errors.

- 

**Transducer and Equipment Management:** Chooses the correct transducer and makes necessary adjustments to equipment controls based on the anatomy being examined, depth of field, and other technical requirements.

- **Equipment Proficiency:** Demonstrates thorough understanding and adept handling of ultrasound equipment according to established operational standards.

- 

**Adherence to Protocols:** Executes procedures in accordance with established guidelines and protocols, ensuring compliance with best practices.

- 

**Documentation:** Accurately documents patient information and imaging results as per clinical protocols.

 **Equipment Maintenance:** Regularly adjusts and maintains ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal performance.

**Qualifications:**

- Bachelor of Science degree.

- Minimum of two years of experience in Ultrasound/Vascular technology.

- Current registration with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), maintaining minimal certifications including Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in abdomen (AB) and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT). - Current Basic Cardiopulmonary Life Support (BCLS) certification.
