 This contract position is on-site, providing you with an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in delivering excellent patient care in a fast-paced urgent care environment.

As a Urgent Care NP/PA, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of acute medical conditions while ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients. Your contributions will be integral to the effectiveness of our medical practice, and you will have the chance to work on diverse patient cases that enhance your clinical skills.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and medical history evaluations
  • Diagnose and manage acute illnesses and injuries
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging as needed
  • Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans
  • Educate patients and families on health and wellness topics
  • Collaborate with physicians and other health professionals to provide comprehensive care
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in urgent care and emergency medicine

Requirements

**Position Overview: Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA)**  

- **FTE Requirement:** 1  

**Coverage Rationale:** Addressing staffing shortages during peak demand.  

**Coverage Duration:** Immediate start for 3 months, with potential for extension.  

**Work Environment:** Urgent Care Clinic - Prior experience in Emergency Room (ER) or high-acuity Urgent Care is mandatory.  

**Schedule Overview:**  

- Options available:    - 4x10 hour shifts (Friday-Monday, 11:00 AM - 9:30 PM)  

  - 3x12 hour shifts (Saturday-Monday, 9:00 AM - 9:30 PM)  

**Daily Responsibilities:**  

- Manage a variety of urgent care cases including but not limited to: influenza, acute illnesses, incision & drainage (I&D), lacerations, onychocryptosis (toe nails), and fractures.  

- Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in handling high-acuity cases, addressing patients presenting with atypical symptoms not requiring ER admission, including dizziness, chest pain, and other cardiac concerns, as well as performing diagnostic imaging and lab work.  

**On-Call Expectations:** No on-call duty required.  

**Patient Volume:** Expected patient throughput is approximately one every 20 minutes.  

**Provider and Support Staff Composition

:** Team consists of physicians, fellow NPs, and MA/RN support staff.  

**Electronic Medical Record System:** EPIC  

**Required Credentials:** Must be Board Certified.
