**Radiology Medical Imaging Tech I**

This job involves doing different types of medical imaging tests for patients of all ages. The tech uses special methods and tools to make sure the test results are accurate. They also help manage patient flow and the department’s daily activities.

**SKILLS AND ABILITIES**

- Can use a computer and software programs needed for the job.

- Knows how to operate office equipment.

- Can work well with others in different departments and with patients.

- Can keep information private and work independently with little supervision.

- Comes to work on time and consistently.

**EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES**

- Completed an accredited program in Radiology Technology.

- Holds a current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists for the type of imaging they do.

- Has a current license for Oregon or is a recent graduate with a temporary permit and can take the ARRT exam. Must get registered in less than one year.

- Has Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

- Needs to get the Image Wisely pledge certificate within 30 days after starting and renew it every year by January 30.

- Needs to get the Image Gently pledge certificate within 30 days after starting and renew it every year by January 30.

- Preferred to have an associate's or bachelor's degree.

*Different Types of Imaging:*

- Radiologic Technology

- Mammography

- CT Technology

- MRI Technology

**EXPERIENCE**

- Preferred to have three years of experience in a hospital setting, but new graduates with less experience are welcome too.

**Certification Requirements**

- ARRT certification

- BLS certification
