Machine Maintenance Technician

The Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for the emergency repair and on-going maintenance required to ensure the optimum performance of the user’s electronic and hardware systems. The focus of the position is to perform the day-to-day functions of machine repair and maintenance including troubleshooting.

LOCATION: Des Plaines, IL 60018
POSITION: Contract
PAYRATE: 26.00 hour
 

• Repairs and maintains machinery, mechanical/electrical equipment through inspection, troubleshooting, and evaluation to determine root cause of problems.
• Disassembles machines and repairs or replaces broken parts.
• Cleans and lubricates parts, orders replacement parts, inspects completed repairs and returns equipment to
• Adapts procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet special needs.
• Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.

Qualifications:

• Must have High School Diploma or GED
• 3 years prior machine maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical/electrical understanding of complex equipment.
• Use of basic hand tools and power tools. Knowledge of machine tools and their use.
• Knowledge of basic electrical and electronic repairs.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to follow diagrams, schematics, manuals, instructions and engineering specifications.
