Production Expediter (2nd shift)

Position Summary
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Expediter plays a key role in maintaining efficient production flow by relocating and tracking parts throughout backend processes. This position ensures timely movement of materials between workstations using manual handling equipment and scanners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Move parts throughout the facility using hand trucks or manual transport tools.
  • Read and interpret shop routers to ensure proper routing of parts.
  • Maintain familiarity with plant layout and process flow.
  • Accurately scan jobs in and out of designated areas using hand-held scanners.
  • Keep assigned staging areas clear of unaccounted or idle inventory.
  • Assist with inventory counts as needed (requires Parts Count Training).
  • Transport incoming materials to designated processing areas.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Production Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of consistent work experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred; relevant experience may substitute.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Ability to understand and use measurement tools.
  • Capable of reading and following written and verbal instructions.
  • Flexibility to work swing shifts, weekends, or alternate schedules as required.
  • Strong interest in hands-on, production-related work.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
