As we continue to expand, we are seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Administrator to help support and scale our enterprise technology environment across all locations.

Position Summary

The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, security, optimization, and scalability of Talpa Supermarkets’ technology infrastructure across corporate offices, stores, and distribution operations. This role supports mission-critical systems including retail POS platforms, Microsoft 365 services, Azure cloud infrastructure, and enterprise cybersecurity controls.

The position ensures reliable system performance, data protection, and operational continuity while supporting the company’s continued growth in a multi-location retail environment. The IT Systems Administrator collaborates closely with leadership, store operations, vendors, and end users to deliver secure, efficient, and scalable technology solutions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Retail Systems & POS Administration

  • Administer and support POS platforms and retail systems across all store locations
  • Manage systems such as BRData and ABO Central
  • Coordinate system updates, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Ensure uptime, performance, and data integrity of retail platforms
  • Support new store openings, relocations, and technology deployments

Microsoft 365 Administration

  • Manage the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including:
    • Entra ID (Azure AD)
    • Exchange Online
    • SharePoint Online
    • Microsoft Teams
    • Intune (Endpoint Management)
    • Microsoft Defender security tools
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and licensing
  • Implement governance, retention, and compliance controls
  • Monitor system health, usage, and security alerts

Azure & Cloud Infrastructure

  • Deploy and manage Azure virtual machines and cloud services
  • Implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies
  • Manage identity and access models across cloud environments
  • Optimize cloud performance, cost, and scalability
  • Support hybrid infrastructure solutions

Systems Implementation & Projects

  • Lead or support system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure initiatives
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders on IT projects
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies aligned with business needs
  • Maintain documentation of system architecture and configurations

Cybersecurity & Governance

  • Maintain cybersecurity controls and industry best practices
  • Monitor vulnerabilities and coordinate remediation activities
  • Support incident response and risk mitigation efforts
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations
  • Maintain IT policies, procedures, and technical documentation

Technical Support & Operations

  • Provide advanced technical support for corporate and store systems
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Coordinate equipment provisioning and lifecycle management
  • Ensure system availability and operational stability

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible systems administration experience
  • Hands-on expertise administering Microsoft 365 environments
  • Proven experience managing Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure
  • Experience supporting enterprise or multi-site organizations
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (verbal and written)
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated accountability, reliability, and ownership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in retail, grocery, distribution, or other multi-location environments
  • Working knowledge of POS systems and retail technology platforms
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Microsoft 365 Administrator)
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards
  • Project management experience, including technology implementations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Adaptability in a growth-oriented organization
  • Collaborative team player with a strong customer-service mindset

Physical & Work Environment

  • Office-based role with occasional travel to store locations
  • Ability to lift and move IT equipment as needed
  • May require occasional evening or after-hours support for maintenance or emergencies
