Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and organized Marketing Event Planner / Assistant Intern to support the planning, coordination, and execution of marketing events, in-store promotions, and community outreach initiatives across Georgia. This role provides hands-on experience in event planning, field marketing, and brand engagement and is ideal for a student or recent graduate looking to build practical marketing experience in a fast-paced, multicultural retail environment.
Program Duration & Schedule
This is a Summer Internship opportunity, with an expected duration from April through August (flexible based on availability and school schedules).
- Part-time to full-time hours may be available depending on business needs
- Availability for evenings and weekends is required, as many events occur during these times
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Execution
- Assist in planning and executing community events, in-store promotions, sponsorships, and cultural activations
- Support event logistics, including vendor coordination, materials preparation, timelines, setup, and breakdown
- Maintain event calendars, checklists, and basic budgets to ensure deadlines are met
- Attend events as a brand representative and provide on-site support
Marketing Support
- Assist in preparing marketing materials such as flyers, signage, giveaways, and basic digital assets
- Capture photos and videos during events and organize content for internal reporting and social media use
- Support post-event recaps, feedback collection, and performance tracking
Field & Team Coordination
- Coordinate with store leadership and marketing team members to ensure event readiness
- Communicate effectively with vendors, partners, and internal stakeholders
Qualifications
Required
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, Business, or a related field
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to travel within Georgia for events and store visits
- Ability to lift and carry light event materials as needed
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Preferred
- Familiarity with Canva, Microsoft Office, or similar tools
- Interest in community marketing, retail promotions, and event coordination
- Basic photo and video content creation skills
Travel & Gas Allowance
Travel is a core part of this role. Interns who use a personal vehicle for approved business travel will receive a gas allowance to help offset fuel expenses associated with work-related travel.
