Local Cuisine Classification for Global Food Delivery — Remote (Finland)
Are you a native Finnish speaker with a deep understanding of local food and solid English comprehension? Welo Data is seeking contributors for a global food delivery project.
In this freelance role, you will review restaurant menu items written in Finnish and classify them using a standardized taxonomy in Americanized English. Your cultural knowledge and linguistic skills will directly help enhance food category recognition across diverse global markets.
What You Will Do
- Read & Review: Analyze each menu item's name, category, and description written in Finnish.
- Confirm Context: Check the item photo (if available) to verify the food type.
- Classify (Dish Label): Assign the most accurate Dish Label from an English-language taxonomy dropdown using keywords like "pasta" or "grilled chicken".
- Categorize (Course Label): Select the appropriate Course Label in English (e.g., Appetizer, Main Course, Side Dish, Dessert, Beverage, Other).
- Add Contextual Notes: Provide a brief note for any items that seem unclear, ambiguous, or unusual to ensure no row is left blank.
