Job Description: Owner-Operator Truck Driver (Own Truck Mandatory)
Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Owner-Operator Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate must own a truck and have proven experience operating various types of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tanker trucks, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks. This role involves delivering freight safely and efficiently across designated routes while maintaining compliance with all safety regulations. Candidates should possess strong driving skills, a clean driving record, and the ability to manage different cargo types.
Important: Only candidates who own a truck are eligible to apply. Applicants without their own truck will not be considered. Ownership of the truck is mandatory for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate your own commercial truck while following all traffic laws and safety standards
- Transport freight efficiently across assigned routes while meeting delivery schedules
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment, such as forklifts, when required
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections and ensure your truck is well-maintained and roadworthy
- Secure cargo properly before transit to prevent damage or accidents
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle inspections
- Comply with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery updates or concerns
- Follow company safety protocols at all times to protect yourself and others on the road
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements (manual transmission experience preferred)
- Must own a truck (mandatory requirement)
- Proven experience in truck driving with strong knowledge of delivery routes
- Experience operating trucks such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is preferred
- Ability to load and unload freight safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with freight handling equipment, including forklifts, is an advantage
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and compliance standards
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle long-haul trips
- Physical capability to perform vehicle inspections and cargo handling when necessary
